The 14′ x 20′ “Young Turks” billboard has been installed at the Downtown Independent in advance of tomorrow’s (Feb. 8, 2013) World Premiere. Remember, the reception starts at 7 p.m., the first screening is at 8 with a Q&A afterwards, then a second screening at 10 p.m.
“Young Turks” will screen daily through Feb. 14. Here are showtimes for the rest of the week: Sat., Feb. 9: 7 p.m., 9 p.m.Sun., Feb. 10: 8 p.m.
Mon., Feb. 11-Thurs. Feb. 14: 5 p.m., 7 p.m. For tickets, go to the theater’s website:Â downtownindependent.com
Also, there will be “Young Turks” T-shirts (black or white) for sale at the theater, as well as Party Boys CDs.
The Party Boys — Donald Dunham, Marnie Weber, James Duck, Gillean McLeod and Fred Arbegast — allowed filmmakers Stephen Seemayer and Pamela Wilson to use some of their music in the soundtrack of “Young Turks,” which also includes the music of Fat & Fucked Up, the Dark Bob and Linda Frye Burnham.
“Party Boys: The Ultimate Collection” is a double CD compilation of all the band’s greatest songs, including “Ave Maria” and “Spring Street Shuffle,” both of which are featured prominently in the documentary.
LOVE THE BILLBOARD.
